Internationally acclaimed French comics artist Jean Henri Gaston Giraud is probably better known under his pseudonym Moebius, the signature he adopted in for his science fiction and fantasy work. He also occasionally used the name Gir for his own work as well as the numerous comics he wrote for other comic artists. Giraud most popular character, Lieutenant Blueberry, was created in when he and writer Jean-Michel Charlier started the comic strip Fort Navajo. His western serial Blueberry was a later spin-off. He has contributed storyboards and concept designs to numerous science fiction films, and also done work for various video games.
