Barb's Teaching Help aims to bring you the best teaching materials and resouce books available for K-12 educators of all types, in homes and schools, at reasonable prices. We have a large variety to choose from, most still in print and new. These include workbooks, reproducible materials for classroom use, cassettes, CDs, curriculum materials, books that go with popular curriculums and just plain good books for reading aloud or for enrichment. This site was designed to offer a shopping cart experience to our customers who prefer shopping completely on line rather than having to communicate directly with a real person, but that communication is still an option here.

One of the best ways to make use of this site is to browse it by category. Sometimes the book you really need is one you haven't discovered yet. This site will be growing on a daily basis. We are trying to add our core subjects and critical thinking materials first, since they meet the needs of the largest number of people. But if you need something to add a little zing to your curriculum or want to get out of a rut, there's lots to find here to do the job.

You just need to have some personal contact with us to receive your shipping costs and payment information. Some titles receive additional discounts for large volume. These titles have this noted in their descriptions.

Any of our titles are available to schools by purchase order. You might want to email me about that before faxing or mailing your regular purchase order form. Our minimum shipping change for any size purchase order is $4.00. If your purchase order contains less than ten books, estimate shipping as $4.00 for the first book and .25 for each additional book. For more than ten books, estimate shipping as 10% of the bill. I will adjust it downward if it is more than my normal shipping and handling costs. Priority shipping is more and to determine it, please contact me before submitting your purchase order. I can also ship UPS when requested and for 2-7 day shipping often use it instead of priority mail when cheaper if you don't need it in three days.

If you want to use a coupon or promotion you found on our site at Merchant Circle or barbsbooks.com and a magazine ad, put the promotion or coupon code in the section for "Comments" on the order form. The shopping cart total will not reflect the promotion, but we will apply the savings or free item when we process your order.

We sell through two different store names on this site with two separate shopping carts -- Barb's People Builders and Barb's People Builders Teaching Help. If you order books from both store names, we will automatically consolidate the shipment and the shipping fees, but it won't show on either shopping cart. The total will be less than the two cart totals put together -- usually by at least $3.00 for media mail. We accept MasterCard, Visa, and American Express. We also accept PayPal, personal checks drawn on United States banks, and international postal money orders. We do accept school purchase orders. Be sure and specify with the drop down menu on the order page if you want expedited (Priority or air) shipping (average 2-3 days in USA). Priority is our default if you don't specify. Economy shipping within the U.S. is media mail (average 7-28 days). My default rate for media mail is $4.10 for the first book. Sometimes additional books will also be shipped in the order without an increase in postage. It depends upon the weight. My default rate for anything that will fit into a flat rate priority envelope is $5.25.. Sometimes more than one book will fit. Most priority orders of over 2 lbs will be charged $10.00 for as many books as will fit in a small flat rate box. If you live near California you will be charged no more than that, and maybe less. If you order too much to fit in the box, I'll contact you with an exact rate and get your permission before I ship. Keep in mind that the shopping cart uses number of items, not weight, in its calculations. This will normally calculate more than I will really charge you. I can always lower a postage rate without having to delay the order by contacting you, but I can't raise the rate unless I get your permission. So the cart is almost always going to calculate too much. I do offer a 75% discount on shipping for additional books in an order after the first book. We will always get your authorization if the amount needs to be increased.

Please ask for quote by email for shipping on orders shipped outside of the United States. Our default rates are best guesses. Where possible, we use global priority flat rate envelopes. If your item fits, the charge to Canada and Mexico is $10.50, and to all other countries that accept global priority, $12.00. If it doesn't fit, I would have to weigh your item and send you a quote if the default rates are too low to cover it. Please keep in mind that the default rates are the same for air and surface. The reason for that is because surface rates no longer exist for international mail from the United States. But since tomfolio.com has sellers in other parts of the world whose postal systems still offer surface postage, it's still on our list of shipping choices. All orders must be paid for with United States dollars

We send a notification by email when your order is shipped that includes the exact amount your credit card was charged. If your package qualifies according to postage regulations, you will also receive your delivery confirmation tracking number by email. We cannot get delivery confirmation on orders going outside the United States or to military boxes going overseas .

We guarantee your satisfaction. If you get a book that is not as described, you may return it at our expense within 10 days of receipt for a full refund. We do ask that you contact us with the reason before you do this.

If the books you order do not meet your needs we will cheerfully refund the purchase price, but not the shipping, if you return the book in the same condition as you got it, within 10 days of receipt. Please contact us first with the reason for your return.

If your shipment was damaged, let us know and we will make arrangements for return or discount, according to your desires. Please email for return authorization within ten days of receiving the book.

If you have questions about any book, we encourage you to contact us by email for further information before ordering. Whenever appropriate, we use recycled boxes and packing materials, if available.

Although we are trying to delete books from our inventory as they are sold, occasionally computer glitches or a rush on a specific title can make it necessary to backorder, if book is still in print, or cancel the order if it is no longer available. . A backorder will normally be shipped about 7 - 14 business days later than if a book is in stock. We will notify you within 24 hours if a title you want is not in stock and give you the approximate time it will take for it to come in. Your credit card is never charged until the book is being processed for shipment within 24 hours. If backorders are unacceptable to you, please indicate this in the space provided for comments when you place your order. Also, if you need more copies of a book than appear to be available, please email me with the number you need. I may have more copies than show up on the shopping cart, or if the book is in print I may be able to order as many as you need.
