RACHEL AT THE WELL BLUE & WHITE STONEWARE COOLER LID.  Picture
Manufacturer: Robinson Clay Products Co., Akron OH, 1902 - 1919.
Domed lid with a sunflower finial, sunflower leaves around the dome, & an ornamentalfleur-de-lis-like band around the outer rim. Overall gray ground glaze. 7 1/2" d. across outer rim. 6 1/4" d. across inner rim, thus fitting into a top with about a 6 1/2" d. opening. Robinson Clay Products Co., Akron OH, 1902 - 1919. 3 well-stabilized old hairline cracks tangential to the rim: 2 1/4", 1 3/4" & 1 7/8" long. (SEE PHOTO).

ROBERTS BINGHAMTON NY STONEWARE BATTER JUG.  Picture
Manufacturer: William Roberts, Binghamton, NY 1848-82..
Ovid, salt glazed (tan) exterior. Albany slip interior. Hand-turned. 9 1/2" h. Tubular spout (1 3/4" d.), loop handles on sides, & ear handle on back separately shaped & applied. Cobalt brushed around spout, loops & back handle. Impressed on back "W. Roberts Binghamton" (N.Y.) / 6". William Roberts (1818-1888) used this mark 1848-82. No bail handle. 4 old, tight cracks in side: 1 1/4", 1 1/2", 4 1/2", 5" long respectively (outlined in red in photo). Small chip on spout & 2 on the back handle as shown in the photo.

SIPE & SONS WILLIAMSPORT, PA DECORATED STONEWARE CROCK.  Picture
Manufacturer: SIPE & SONS, WILLIAMSPORT, PA 1867 - 1875..
High shoulder slightly tapers into collared neck that flares out to a flat rim. The sides of the waist taper down to the 9" d. base 4 Gal. 12 3/4" h. 11"across the rim & about 12" d. across the waist, which has applied ear handles flush with the side. Incised line around the shoulder. Salt-glazed exterior with Albany slip interior. Impressed "Sipe & Sons W'MSPORT, PA" & "4" swiped with cobalt blue. Brushed cobalt design of 2 bold flowers emerging from 4 leaves. Cobalt brushed at the ends of each handle. Founded in 1867 by WilliamSipe, and joined by his two sons shortly thereafter, Sipe & Sons Pottery operated until about 1875 when the Sipes were joined by Abram Young and Joseph Nichols and the pottery was operated as Sipe, Nichols & Co until 1877. 2 old spider cracks, a small chip under one of the handles, and some very minor chips on the interior side of the rim. NOTE: Price includes the shipping cost over & above that added automatically in the shopping basket for the furthest postal zone from 17110.
