ANTIQUE COMBINATION KITCHEN UTENSIL.  Picture
Manufacturer: Unknown. C. 1890s - 1910s..
Tin. 3-parts consisting of (1) a graduated, handled bowl with screw threads on the bottom, (2) a tapered spout soldered to a circular disc that fits against the hole in the bottom of the bowl, and (3) a threaded sleeve that holds either the spout and/or 3 disc of perforated tin or wire mesh providing various porosities. The parts can be fitted together to create a dipper, funnel, fruit jar or bottle filler,1-cup/ pint measure, strainer, sifter, clothes sprinkler, flour dredger, and funnel cake maker. 5 1/4" h. fully assembled x 4 3/8" d. across the top of the bowl, and 8 1/8" l. across bowl & handle. Unmarked. C. 1890s - 1910s. 3 strainer discs are missing, spout dented o/w average use.

ANTIQUE TIN GRAVY & SOUP STRAINER.  Picture

Round, convex bowl with perforated bottom & collar foot. Tapering, tubular handle with a cap crimped over the end. Little hanging ring soldered to the front of the rim. Both thehandle & the foot are soldered to the bowl. All edges rolled over. The bowl is 4 1/4" d. x 1 3/4" h. 7" l. overall. Unmarked. C. 1890. Average use with no abuse.

HECKER'S OLD HOMESTEAD PANCAKE FLOUR ADVERTISING CAKE TURNER OR SPATULA.  Picture
Manufacturer: Probably Pilgrim Novelty Co,, Prov.idence, RI. Early 20th C..
Nickelplated flatten steel wire handle embossed "Hecker's Old Homestead Pancake Flour" riveted to a nickelplated steel blade with a single circular hole. (2 3/4" x 3 3/8" l.) with rounded shoulders. 10 1/2" l.Unmarked, but a cake turner identical to this one, except that the single circular hole in the blade is replaced by a heart-shaped hole, is found advertising "Rumford the Wholesome Baking Powder" and embossed with "Pilgrim Novelty Co, Prov., R.I." Early 20th C. Average use with no abuse.

MALTED GRAPE NUTS EGG WHIP, DRINK MIXER & BOTTLE CAP LIFTER.  Picture

Flatten wire handle embossed "Malted Grape Nuts" & "A Delightful Health Drink" on obverse. Conical-shaped coiled wire at beater end, looped heavy wire cap lifter with 2 tabs at other. About 8 1/2" l. No other markings.Malted Grape Nut s was marketed by Postum Cereal Co. of Battle Creek, MI as adrink ordered at soda fountains that combined their Grape Nuts in a powder form with milk, a flavoring of one's choice (chocolate was oftenrecommended), and optionally an egg. Advertisements appeared in the early 1920s. Average use with tarnish.

NOVELTY BOTTLE CAP LIFTER - BOWLING PIN HANDLE.  Picture

Steel opener & aluminum handle with chain hole. 2 1/2" l. Unmarked. This opener was the subject of Design Patent D153,349 issued to Oscar R. Galter, April 12, 1949. Because of the short handle, there was little demand for these openers and they are fairly scarce. Bull No. N-2. Near Fine, i.e. very minor signs of careful use. Combination mail chain & scraper. 5 3/8"l. tinned cast iron, looped handle riveted to tinned steel scraper. Oval-shaped piece of chain mail (about 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" w.) composed of 1/2" d. double rings hangs from scraper. Handle impressed "PATD" on one side & "93" on the other. 10 1/2" l. overall. Advertised in 1902 & 1908 Sear, Roebuck catalogs as "The Sensible". C. 1893 - 1915. Tin all but missing o/w average use with no abuse.
