Souvenir Card: BEST WISHES OF YOUR TEACHER.
Publisher: No Publisher. No place. No date. 5' x 8 1/2' h. Diecut, embossed, chromolithograph printed on heavy, glossy stock. This is a double card with the edges of both irregularly scalloped; the cards are tied together with a pink ribbon through a hole at the top of each. The front card has a broad outer border of cross-hatching with blue dots over pink in the diamonds & is overlaid with embossed flowers, buds, leaves & bows outlined in gilt. The inner panel is light blue shading toward white at the top & bottom & contains 'With Best Wishes of Your Teacher' in dark brown at the top. The middle of the panel & part of the outer border is covered with large circular frame attached to a handle (could be a fan, hand mirror, or magnifying glass) tilted to the right within which is an illustration of people approaching a lighted church in a snowy landscape. Roses & forget-me-nots are tied to the handle with a ribbon & the bouquet extends around the bottom of the frame. The second card contains 11 'Gems Of Thought' printed in dark red on pink-coated stock within an ornate border. The back of the second card is handwritten in ink 'Presented to Verdie M. Herman by H.
