Lower portion of the first leaf is barely attached, but complete. Back cover is complete, but has several long and many small edge tears & dampstains along the edges. One interior page has a long tear, another has an edge tear with the corner dampstained o/w the interior pages have only an occasional minor defect.

The back cover has a small decorative device in gilt & black incorporating "Charcoal Recovery Process". All leaves glossy paper. Photo-illustration are in aqua-tinted b/w & consist of 10 plates with 18 illustrations, 6 half-page illustrations, & 2 smaller illustrations. All show equipment used in or plants using the process. Centerfold schematic drawing of a "Gasoline Extraction Plant". The Baltimore Gas Engineering Corporation [Baltimore] may have been the publisher of this promotional booklet since its name is printed at the bottom of each page. It is listed, however, as the "Manager" on the title page & the text explains that they are in charge of engineering & installation while The Gasoline Recovery Corporation owns the process patents.
