TomFolio.com FAQ: Enabling Browser Cookies

How do I enable "Cookies" and why do I need to?
Like most websites, TomFolio uses cookies to verify your identity whenever
you create personal lists on our website. For example, your TomFolio.com cookie allows you to
create a list of items in your shopping cart, without requiring you to log into
our database.
A "Cookie" is a string of numbers stored on your computer.
Your browser must be configured to enable cookies before we can
store the cookie for you. Below is information on how to enable cookies using
various browsers. If you are concerned about privacy or security issues,
please review the options your browser allows and elect to be asked before
allowing a cookie, or designate to allow a tomfolio.com cookie on your computer.
Which browser am I using?
You can easily determine which browser your computer is using by following
the directions below.

Open your browser to any website (such as www.tomfolio.com)

From the menu along the top of the browser, click on Help

From the drop down menu, click on [About] (whatever browser name is)
The name and version of your browser will be indicated, for example: Internet Explorer 6.0.

Internet Explorer 7.x

Click Start and select Control Panel.
(Windows XP Classic View - click on Windows Start button and select Settings and Control Panel).

Double-click the Internet Options icon.

Select the Privacy tab.
-
Under Settings, click Advanced button.
-
Check the box Override automatic cookie handling under Cookies section in Advanced Privacy Settings window.

Under First-party Cookies, select Accept.
-
Under Third-party Cookies, select Accept.
-
Check the box Always allow session cookies.
-
Click OK.
-
Click OK to exit.
Internet Explorer 6.x
-
From the menu along the top of the browser, click [Tools]
-
From the drop down menu, click on [Internet Options...]
-
At the top of the Internet Options screen, click the [Privacy] tab
-
Click on the [Advanced] button
-
Select "Override automatic cookie handling"
-
Set First Party Cookies to Accept
-
Set Third Party Cookies to Accept
-
Select "Always allow session cookies".
-
Click [OK]
Internet Explorer 5.x
-
From the menu along the top of the browser, click [Tools]
-
From the drop down menu, click on [Internet Options...]
-
At the top of the Internet Options screen, click on the [Security] tab
-
Click on the "Custom Level" button
-
Scroll to the Cookie Section. There are two locations in Internet Explorer 5 where cookies are changed:
Allow Cookies that are stored on your computer, and Allow per-session Cookies, not stored.

Select "Allow Cookies that are stored on your computer" to enable your cookies.

Click [OK]
Internet Explorer 3x, 4.0

From the menu along the top of the browser, click [Tools]
-
From the drop down menu, click on [Internet Options...]
-
At the top of the Internet Options screen, click the [Advanced] tab
-
Select the appropriate Cookie Preferences

Mozilla Firefox

From the menu along the top of the browser, click [Tools]

From the drop down menu, click [Option...]

Select the Privacy [Key] image from the left column menu

If the cookies options in the center column menu is not already open, click on [+] next to "Cookies"

Select "Enable Cookies"
-
Click [OK]
Netscape 7.x
-
From the menu along the top of the browser, click [Edit]
-
From the drop down menu, click [Preferences]
-
Double-click on "Privacy & Security
-
Select "Cookies" subcategory
-
Select "Enable all cookies"
-
Click [OK]
Netscape Communicator (newer versions)
-
From the menu along the top of the browser, click [Edit]
-
From the drop down menu, click on [Preferences]
-
Click Advanced
-
On the right, you will see Cookies. Select "Accept all cookies"

Click [OK]
Netscape Communicator (version 3 and older)

From the menu along the top of the browser, click [Options]
-
From the drop down menu, click on [Preferences]

Click the "Protocol" tab
-
Make your selections from the Cookie Preferences

Click [OK]

From the menu along the top of the browser, click [File]

From the drop down menu, click on [Preferences]

Select "Privacy"

Make sure the Cookies settings are set to:
* Automatically Accept All Cookies
* Accept From Any Server
