For the benefit of those who were late in getting to their seats it should be explained that Pogo is an opossum - or a 'possum. It is known that his home is in the southern swamplands and that the language spoken by him and his colleagues is identical with that used by animals who are currently employed in such areas. When Walt Kelly first started the strip, he thought that the locale cold have been any swamp in the southland, thinking in a dim way that the mystery and interest of such a location made for good storytelling. Eventually it developed that the characters themselves would settle for nothing but the big-league park in southern Georgia, the wonderland called Okefenokee. If you are not already a Pogo addict, it is because you haven't read a paper he's in and because you haven't read this book. Just start of the first page and you will become one." 182 pages.
