First Edition Small folio, about 13.25 inches tall, in gray cloth decorated in silver and black. 178 pages. A beautifully illustrated evocation of auto racing from 1904 to 1916. Color frontis and jacket art by the author as well as detailed drawings of varying size on almost every page. Book is very slightly edge worn with some toning to the edges of the covers, and has a previous owner bookplate under the front flap. Jacket has moderate edgewear with some chipping around the head of the spine. However, there is significant tearing: a messy three inch tear at top front panel, one inch tear at bottom front spine fold, and perhaps a half dozen smaller edge tears.
