Falconer, David and King, Peter
The Organs & Organists of Bath Abbey
 Picture
Publisher: Bath Abbey Music Society, 2001 Bath Abbey, UK.
Book. Book condition: Very Good. Trade paperback 8vo - over 7 - 9" tall Bath Abbey is a Church of England Parish Church. Introduction by Prince Charles. "The first historical account of the organs of Bath Abbey, by the Rev. Andrew Freeman, was mostly based on three volumes of vestry minutes covering the period 1684-1883, and one book of churchwardens' accounts., 1801-1848. Subsequent accounts drew largely on Freeman because of the inaccessibility of these records at the time of writing..A completely new account of the organs down to 1987, with brief biographical notes on the organists, was prepared by the present authors and published in that year. For that work (now long out of print) the available primary sources, some of which were either not known to or consulted by Freeman were used. Some of these new sources enabled us to check the veracity of some of Freeman's statements as well as adding new material. This completely new account of the organs includes much additional information about the early instruments, as well as a full account of the Klais organ." Illustrated. vi + 96 pages. Book is in VERY GOOD condition. Paper wrappers.
