The book contains the abstracts from Orange County, Virginia Will Books 9, 10, 11, and 12 covering the period 1743-1759. The abstracts identify grantors, grantees, witnesses and neighbors, as well as acreage, cost, landmarks, waterways, and roads. Deeds of gifts are useful for their descriptions of family relationships. These early deed books contain many deeds for transactions in the areas that became Augusta and Culpeper Counties.
