Thomas, Bob
I Got Rhythm!: The Ethel Merman Story
 Picture
Publisher: G. P. Putnam's Sons, New York, 1985.
ISBN: 9780399130410 Signed First Edition Hardcover. Condition: Very Good/Good One quarter black cloth with grey boards, 8vo., square and tight. **INSCRIBED** on FFEP Dear Lorraine, I hear you do a great imitation of me-enjoy my book-and remember 'Everything's coming up roses' love Ethel. Owner's name/address stamped on title page, and her unobtrusive embossed initials. Interior otherwise clean and unmarked. Appears unread. DJ priceclipped and curled at edges with one 2 mm closed tear at top front. BOOK INFO: The career of Ethel Merman, for thirty years, the Queen of Broadway, is virtually the history of the American musical theater.. 'Hell, I just sing. I open my mouth and it happens. What more can I tell you?' There is more to her story: Merman died virtually alone in 1984 after enduring four divorces and the death of her daughter and daughter-in-law. Here, Thomas brings her back to life, recalling the vivacious singer and actress and reviving the Broadway musical comedy of the era. Apparently also reviving her enough to sign her little biography posthumously. Or it just happened that she was able to inscribe it prior to publication! How does that "just happen"? We're curious. Language: English. Pages: 256

Appr.: | AUD 17.67 CAD 16.88 EUR 12.62 GBP 9.12 JPY 1,350.00 MXN 168.75 ZAR 162.65
