Integrated Writing (IW): Readiness Workbook
Publisher: Bothell, WA 1993. New book. Professionally Integrated Publishing Paperback This is a well-liked series of workbooks that incorporate using a pencil and ruler to connect points on a page. In these books, a completed pattern is shown as an example for the child to duplicate. Each book is progressively more difficult in design, with 20 designs per book. Students are motivated to master more difficult designs and consequently to develop their visual perception and memory. We've also called them pre-drafting skill workbooks, as they are designed to get students to master ruler and pencil skills. Additional activities, incuding string art and nail art, are suggested. Teacher instructions and answer keys included. For K-1st grades. ; Integrated Writing; 64 pages; This series for grades K-12 is based on many years of field research and development. It has proved to be one of the best complete and beneficial handwriting programs ever developed -- especially with those who are having academic problems. Students who have poor handwriting often avoid writing as much as possible, and that, in turn, reduces their progress in other writing skills. This handwriting method is enjoyable, but it is also the only K-12 writing method which enables teachers to fully integrate writing with reading, math, and other subjects to promote growth in all of these areas. The series offers a continuum of alphabets from which teachers can choose, each of which was created on the basis of visual-motor integration principles. The exercises also provide a continuum of writing line heights to prevent tight finger writing. Students practice 'tracking' within outlines of letters, which is a very effective visual-motor integration technique. This book is for those not yet in grade 2. Be sure to get the Integrated Writing Professional Manual, which is available separately from us, if you have not yet used this program.; ISBN: 1881887006
