Photos and illustrations by Judy Bostater, Devon Blackwood, many others. ; Local history of Sugar Island, Michigan, near Sault Ste. Marie, where Lake Superior meets Lake Huron. ; Minor edgewear. Small address label on front blank page, name and date penned on same page. One group photo has highlighting to three faces and their names highlighted in caption. One other page has name penciled next to photo where photo caption says name is unknown. No other marks. Binding tight and square. Scarce.

Glossy throughout. ; Isbn 0978697014. Originally published by Chicago: M. A. Donohue, 1906. This is a facsimile reprint, published by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Marquette, Michigan, 2006. Complete subtitle: 'Containing a Full and Accurate Account of the Development of the Catholic Church in Upper Michigan, with Portraits of Bishops, Priests and Illustrations of Churches Old and New'. Marquette is in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and was named for Jacques Marquette, an early French Jesuit missionary there. ; Upper tips bumped. Front four leaves show light wrinkles. No other defects. ; Laid in: small card imprinted with brief history of the Sock of Bishop Frederick Baraga, a relic said to have cured a person of dropsy in 1868, item not dated, but recent enough to have an em ail on it.

Wyman, lived 1880-1936, known as 'Father of Forest Conservation in the Upper Peninsula'. ; Exterior shows moderate wear. Rear cover, unlettered, is slightly discolored. No writing or scribbling. Staples rusty but intact. Quite scarce.
