Colcord, Joanna C., editor. [Maitland, Richard]
'Paddy Get Back' [caption title]
Publisher: American Neptune / Southworth-Anthoensen Press, Portland, Maine, 1942. [3] p., 25 cm. 'In 'The American Neptune', I (1941), 62, Mr. William B. Sturtevant gives the words of a capstan chanty which he calls 'The Oxford.' It is more commonly known as 'Paddy Get Back.' I believe it to be of late origin (1850 or after). Its rollicking tune, which probably boasts a music-hall origin, has never appeared in print, so far as I know. There are many versions...' 'With the Season's Greetings from the Editors of 'The American Neptune Christmas 1942'. Pink laid paper; inconspicuous closed tear in fore edges (the mailer is also torn) & a light rust mark above title from the mailer clasp; VG in original mailer with 1 1/2-cent stamp. Stock#32537.
