(He became an attorney in Livonia, Michigan, served as Livonia's third Mayor, and retired from the law in 2010). Appears to be 2nd edition of 087949333X. ; Top edge has one pale yellow mark, and one very light bump to upper edge of front board. Lacks jacket. No other defects.

Very Good+ with no dust jacket Hardcover 90 pages; 4to (10.5") 27 cm; Dark olive-green cloth, gilt lettering, 90 pages, brief biography of sculptor Charles Henry Niehaus, b/w frontispiece photo of stature with tissue guard. ; Statuary Hall hold two statues from each US State of their most celebrated statesmen. Zachariah Chandler was an anti-slavery politician, Senator, mayor of Detroit, anti-corruption head of Department of Interior, etc. This book includes invocations and speeches by the Rev. Henry N. Couden, statue committee chairman Arthur H. Vandenberg, Senators William Alden Smith, Jacob H. Gallinger and Charles E. Townsend, Lieut. Gov. John Q. Ross, supreme court justice H. B. Brown, many more. ; Top part of front cover is slightly faded. Otherwise book shows very little wear. Owner name in old ink on front endpaper. No other defects.
