"..The basis of the work has been a collection of some two hundred briefs prepared during the past ten years by students in Harvard University, under the direction of instructors. Of these briefs the most useful and interesting have been selected; the material has been carefully worked over, and the bibliographies enlarged and verified. A number of new topics, as well as a list of questions suitable for debate, have been added; and the whole has been made uniform in treatment. It should be said, however, that the lists of references are by no means exhaustive, and that many of the smallest subdivisions may be made subjects for separate and detailed discussion.." Topics are interesting when looked at from a modern perspective, including: negro suffrage, women's suffrage, popular election of senators, capital punishment, annexation of Canada or Hawaii, the Gold Standard, bimetalism, a single tax, etc. xlvii + 213 pages with index. Book is in GOOD condition; some discoloration (spotting) to cover; binding tight; text pages clean. No dust jacket.
