Zemach, Harve; illustrated by Morgot Zemach.
Duffy and the Devil.

Publisher: New York: Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 1973..
First Edition ISBN: 0374318875 Quarto, about 10.75 inches (27 cm) tall, in greenish blue cloth. Unpaginated, about 40 pages with color illustration on every page. Winner of the Caldecott Medal in 1974 with the medal sticker on the jacket cover. That is unusual since the award is the year after the book is published, but it is certainly possible that the publisher had first printings still in stock when the award was announced. This is a retelling of a Cornish folk tale that resembles the Rumpelstiltskin story. Clean and bright and sound inside. The covers show light edge wear. The jacket is complete but for minor loss of surface color at the extremities; there is a 3/4 inch tear at the bottom front panel and general light edge wear.
