First Edition Octavo, about 9 inches (22.5 cm) tall, in half leather, rather nondescript leather at that. 568 pages illustrated by 4 Woodbury type photographs, other illustrations, some full page, 6 of the seven maps called for on five sheets (lacking the "general map" supposed to be in a pocket at front, but no sign of the pocket or the map). Also two of three isometric foldouts, lacking the second one called for (of the mountains north of Kashmir). Mild toning to the text, but occasional soiling and fingerprints with a small stain to the title page. Binding appears to be sound. The maps have some tears at the folds especially the snow map. Covers have moderate general edge wear, boards with significant surface rubbing. All in all, a reasonably nice copy but for the two missing folding items. Hardcover Hardcover Good
