First English Language Edition Quarto in burgundy faux leather stamped in gilt. 336 pages (the last being blank) illustrated by 180 color plates and some black and white figures and drawings. Nicely produced survey of the subject. A clean, bright and sound copy. A gluing error at page 33 has caused a bit of loss to an illustration at the gutter. Previous owner embossing stamp on the title page. The covers have light wear to the edges.
