In Memoriam Arnold Sheldon Hood.

45 p., portrait, 20.5 cm. Born in Plainfield, CT, the Hoods moved to Taunton, then to Fall River, Mass. In 1843 Hood went on a three-year whaling voyage on the Rowena from Fall River. In 1849 he sailed to California and the Gold Rush. This volume includes letters he sent to Providence from Stockton telling of his experiences. There are two other copies of the photograph portrait reproduced in the book; one framed, the other on heavy stock. Stock#42483. Fine / no dj. Photos vg, matting of framed one stained.
