Seventh Edition Octavo, about 9.5 inches tall, in black faux leather decorated blue and white, the decoration showing a dirigible over a city skyline at night. 84 pages illustrated by photographs. The seventh of a yearly report on the airship industry. ASSOCIATION: This one has about 35 autographs at the front including many important figures in aviation. The occasion was an airship outing over Cleveland on August 30, 1931 during the Cleveland Air Races of that year. Many participants in the races are signers. The names include Billy Parker, Lewis Yancey, Louise Thaden, Carl Lienesch, Clema Granger, C.R. Smith, Walter J. Carr, Eddie Schneider, Russ Brinkley, Bob Dake, Doc Kincade, Randall Henderson, Earle Ovington, Emory Bronte, and Phoebe Omlie. Chamberlain signed by E. L. Brown, Secretary of Dorrance & Co., inquiring about second serial rights to the book (dated 5 February 1932). Interesting for the scarce signature of Clarence Chamberlain (1893-1976), who was a pioneering American aviator.

First UK Edition Gilt stamped blue cloth. 274 pages illustrated by photographs. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, with a short personalized inscription. An autobiography of one of the most celebrated woman pilots to come out of World War II. Sje recruited and trained the WASPS (Women's Air Force Service Pilots), and held many air speed records. Covers have light general soiling and very minor shelf wear. Front pastedown has a previous owner's tag (the recipient of the author's inscription). Text is lightly toned, but otherwise clean and sound. The jacket is complete but for shallow chipping and head of spine and along the top front panel. Folds are lightly worn with a bit of color loss. Later Printing, 1932 Octavo, about 8.75 inches tall, in brown cloth. 304 pages plus a facsimile of the flight's log book. Illustrated by photographs, map endpapers. SIGNED BY WILEY POST WITH AN INSCRIPTION: "To Billy Parker / Whose flying I admired / long before I dreamed of / flying myself / With very best wishes / Wiley Post / 12-8-32." Will D. Parker (1899-1981) built and flew a rotary pusher in 1912 in Colorado. He was issued private pilot's license #44. He later did some barnstorming and then worked for Phillips Petroleum as manager of aviation fuels division. An important early aviator, he flew in the Royal Flying Corps during World War I, and later trained American pilots for the war. This book relates the around the world speed record set by Post and Gatty in 1931. Covers have modest but obvious edge wear. The half title and frontis (which has the inscription on the recto) were detached but they have been professionally reattached although the title page and frontis show some yellow tape residue. Text is lightly toned. Hardcover Hardcover Very Good-

First Edition Very good in medium blue cloth covered boards with white and black text on the spine and with a white and black illustration of a wing tip on the front board. The cloth on the front and rear boards is somewhat mottled and specked; the cloth at the head and heel of the spine is worn; and, the rear paste down shows spots of foxing. In a very good+ unclipped dust jacket with moderate wear and rubbing to the upper edge of the front panel and at the ends of the spine area and small 1/4" chips from the rear corners of the rear panel which is also tanned. 185 pages of text and with 60 black and white photographs by John Swope. Despite the flaws to the cloth covers of the book this copy is in a nice, collectable condition. (Goldstone, A18a)Our code number = TB22295
