CONDITION: worn at edges with some wear-through and spots of fraying on spine edge and corners. Cover gilt still bright. Penciled notations on several of the courses, one page with tape. Previous owner's info scartched out in ink on front free endpaper. Quite useful although not in the best collector condition. Tan cloth, gilt lettering and decor on spine, top edges tan, monochrome line art on endpapers, [viii] + 160 + [viii] + 182 pages, plus 24 unnumbered color glossy illustrated plates in each vol, printed one-side only, with captions. No music. ; Copyright 1910-1911. This edition 1939. Based on the 4-opera masterpiece, Der Ring des Nibeling, by Richard Wagner. Translated into English by Margaret Armour, in blank verse, with stage directions. Illustrated by Arthur Rackham. ; Books show only light shelfwear. No marks. Two leaves in vol-1 have small chips to fore-edge, not affecting any text. No other defects. Bindings are tight. Jackets are both present, both have small edge-chips and closed tears, but everything is readable. Scarce with jackets.

Songs by: Whittemore, J. C. Macy, Virginia Gabriel and others; piano solos and duets by Max Vernor, A. C. Schoolman, Hattie C. Pomeroy, etc. ; 12 leaves have closed tears, mostly music pages, everything readable. Small edge tears to several other leaves. A few light pencil marks. No missing pages. Everythingreadable. Binding is in poor condition, backstrip heavily chipped and worn. Little foxing. Textblock intact. Extremely rare.
