Front endpaper inscribed Sincerely Yours and SIGNED by Maurice Samuel in blue fountain pen. ; Published August 1956. This is 2nd printing, October 1956. This is a fascinating and revealing criticism of professor Arnold J. Toynbee's massive 12-volume work, A Study of History, 1934-1961, published when the series had only extended through the first 10 vols. In particular, Samuel points up Toynbee's biases and misconceptions regarding Judaism. ; Lacks jacket. Gift note lightly penciled on front endpaper dated 11-27-56. Cloth on spine a bit faded but quite readable. No other defects. Crisp and clean.
