California White & Sugar Pine Manufacturers Association,
Pine Homes
 Picture
Publisher: California White & Sugar Pine Manufacturers Association, San Francisco 1925.
.: 1925. 10x7 inch softbound book (stapled) with very Deco color illustrated cover (bungalows set among tall pines, with towering clouds). 48 pages with B&W photos and sepia diagram drawings. This purports to contain a "report" from the architect sent by one George S. Blake Jr. to investigate the suitability of California white and sugar pine timber for building homes in a new development. The "report" of course is in glowing terms, with some "field photos" thrown in. The property to be developed is the "Large estate of the late George Blake, " identified only as "Suburban Hills of American City." The balance of the book offers specifics on specifications for quality building with pine, followed by a section of photos of homes, primarily California type bungalows, showing exterior and interior architectural features, plus garage and garden structures. Clearly an advertising and promotional piece, not a "report." Light toning to covers, shallow creases to a few upper page corners, internally clean and sound. Edition Not Indicated Paper Bound Very Good Con Small 4to - over 9-1/4" - 12" Tall Ephemera
