Booklet gives instructions and examples of illuminated manuscripts to follow. Illustrated with numerous sketches, including two in color. 24 pages. Book is in GOOD condition. Conveyance under the Inclosure act of property in Oxfordshire

Parchment. Two sheets sewn together: 64 x 78 cm,; 56 x 76 cm. Richard Raine, first part; John Wright, second part; with Samuel Druce, yeoman. Stamped:Oxford 6.9.39 [i.e. June 9th, 1839] "G.Gibbs Parchment Manufr, 23 Prince St. Blackfriars Road." An attractive map (17.5 x 26 cm.) on the second page, signed 1J. Underwood surveuor 18401 shows the property on the Winchester branch at the place where the road from Brampton splits for Winchester and Wilney. Line 18 refers to Queen Victoria The English Inclosure Acts allotted common land for the use of individuals and changed the character of English rural society.

MANUSCRIPT, 167 p., 2 leaves, an odd piece of paper plus a blotter; 20.5 x 16 cm. Charles Wild was an 1814 graduate of Harvard and of its medical school in 1818. In 1839 he became one of the "Homoeopathic Fraternity" of Massachusetts. This ledger shows the early business records of a young, newly-established physician in Brookline, in the Boston orbit, where he was respected for his knowledge, abilities and advice. Bound in marbled-paper covers over boards, leather spine, some waterstaining, but all legible; very good. Stock#OB634.
