Near Fine with no dust jacket Hardcover 199 pages; 8vo (8.5") 22 cm; GERMAN text throughout in old Fraktur script. Beautiful full red cloth, 5 small b/w illustrations on front inside intertwining black and gilt decor, gilt lettering on front and spine, tan endpapers, several b/w illustrations in text, b/w portrait engraving of author, 25 stunning full-page chromolithograph plates with captions. ; Volume 42 stated. Published in Glogau (was Germany, now Poland) by Carl Flemming. No date on copyright page but gift note dated 1897 and page 198 mentions 1897. ; Gift note in very pale ink on front endpaper dated 1897. Otherwise book shows a touch of wear at crown only. Gilt decor is bright, color illustrations are clean and sharp, binding is tight. Quite scarce in any condition.

They catch the Lightning Flash current that carries them to the Land of The Lost.
