American painter Walt Kuhn was one of the organizers of the 1913 Armory Show. He writes in ”Twenty-Five Years After” (p. 24) that ”The Armory Show affected the entire culture of America. Business caught on immediately, even if the artists did not at once do so. The outer appearance of industry absorbed the lesson like a sponge.
