Rudolf, Max
A Grammar of Conducting: A Practical Study of Modern Baton Technique
Publisher: G. Schirmer, Inc., 1969 New York.
Book. Book condition: Good. No Jacket. Hardcover 8vo - over 7 - 9" tall Foreword by George Szell. "..If a young musician had had the opportunity of observing several accomplished conductors intensively for a number of years in their daily routine, and if he had acquired conducting experience under the eye of an authoritative director, he could become a competent conductor without methodical instruction. Then his position would be comparable to that of a person who had learned a language without any formal study of the grammar, by living for many years in the country where it is spoken. However, few young musicians have such a chance today. The intention of this book is therefore to present, in concentrated form, what a conductor should learn about baton technique during his apprenticeship.." Illustrated. xvi + 364 pages with index. Book is in GOOD condition. No dust jacket.
