The Story of the Spanish-American War and the Revolt in the Philippines
Publisher: N.Y., Peter Fenelon Collier, 1900.. 272 p.7 color (3 fold.), 60 b/w full-page illus., many more in the text, 29 x 44 cm. Written by a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy with contibutions by General O.O. Howard for the Army and Robley D. Evans, this was about as official account of the war with Spain as was availble. This 1900 version has more pages, but is a smaller format that the 1898 [i.e. 1899] original edition. Two of the colored plates are by H.C Christie. Stock #28,293. Good+, the interior is very good, but the red cloth binding hasdiscoloration on back where, it appears, tape was put on it.

Profusely illustrated with B/W photos from NY Times of history-changing achievements from 1851-1978. In Newspaper headline/column format. Ffep has manufacturer's wrinkle (1"). Rear end papers show small stain (fairly unobtrusive & of unknown origin). Boards have several light stains (coffee?) & fore-edge has light stain & edgewear. Interior text is clean, bright & unmarked. Condition: NrFine/No dust jacket.
