Fashionable Young Woman with Nice Jewlery: Cabinet Card Photograph
Publisher: Gowanda NY.
Very nice sophisticated studio portrait of a young woman in period hairstyle and dress, adorned with tastful jewelry including ear drops, brooch, chatellaine, and ring. Posed on interesting fake rock (probably plaster over a frame). Excellent saturation of color and sharpness of image. Photographer's backstamp in script, either F or G + J. Weber, Gowanda N.Y. with a butterfly and plant stem decoration. Card about 6.5 x 4.25" (image 6x4) with gilt edges around in very good condition. Photograph: Woman with Fur Scarf and Muff, Calendar
Very unusual combination of cabinet card, oval format portrait, and calendar pad. The card is 9x4", the image is 3.75 x 2.5" and there is a calendar pad for 1913 at the bottom. The pad apparently had a cover that has been torn off, the rest of the pad is intact. This cool young woman sports a high-fashion hat, a fox fur (ugh) stole and muff. (That hat appears to be French-millinery inspired.) Small amount of edgewear, otherwise very good condition. PHOTO 3679 Very Good Condition Photograph

J. N. Boyd, Illustrated by: J. N. Boyd, Photographer
Real Photo Cabinet Card, Two Little Girls Smelling Lilacs
Publisher: J.N. Boyd Cottage Grove, Oregon.
Lovely cabinet card with clean, clear bright image of two little girls smelling lilacs. They are identified on the back as 'Eethel (sic) and Nellie Newland.' Studio portrait by J. N. Boyd with his front stamp, including 'Cottage Grove, Ore.' Boyd moved around but his potential move to Cottage Grove was announced in 1898, but apparently bought back his studio in Lebanon, Oregon in the same year and established headquarters there. A studio in Cottage Grove is unrecorded by either Mautz or Robinson. This photo probably dates from the 1898 period. The photo image is about 5.5 x 4.inches, on a dark brown card measuring about 7 x 5 inches. Condition is excellent. Original Photo Fine Condition Photograph

HARTFORD, WISCONSIN: 2 Cabinet Card Photos of Dennison, Liver and Coerper Building, John Pierpont Denison Home, Ephemera
Publisher: Hartford Wisconsin.
Two related cabinet card photos plus an item of ephemera. The photos are (1) 7 x 9-3/8 -inch photo on about 11 x 14 dark card. The large building in photo number one depicts "Denison, Liver, and Coerper" dry goods and clothing store in Hartford, Wisconsin, late 1890s. The name is spelled out on the awning. The windows display men's hats and clothing, plus a female manikin and women's clothing and accessories. Other businesses identifiable in the building are E.H. Ehlert, M.D. and Zahnarzt (?) Dentist. Next door is H. Lau, Harness Maker. View along the side of the building includes one other building with a horse and buggy in front, and a view of a river or lake. There is also a horse tied at a post in front of the main building in the photo. Board sidewalks, dirt streets. This photo has the blind stamp of what appears to be Sunderland Photography, Hartford. The second photo is of the residence of John Pierpont Denison and Carrie Denison Palmer (written on back) dated June 8, 1897. 7-3/4 x 9-1/2 photo on light gray card about 14 x 11, Hartford written in lower right corner. The photo is a side and front view of a white clapboard house with a large window bay and shutters. A horse and buggy are in the side yard, with a woman (is this Carrie?) standing beside it. Both photos are in very good condition, with some soil and aging to the lighter card. In addition, there is a funeral souvenir folder, 5-1/2 x 3-1/4 inches (folded) in memory of John Pierpont Denison, Born Aug. 6, 1878 and died November 24, 1943, in very good condition. A great find for a local historian or descendent! PHOTO 2118 Very Good Condition Photographs

Thwaites, Photographer
Sexy, Sultry Young Woman: Real Photo Postcard
Publisher: Portland Oregon.
This cabinet card is a bit faded and has some staining at the corners, but I love her sultry intense stare. Betcha she became a suffragette - she looks very determined and self-sufficient. Backstamp is a fancy collophon for Thwaites Photographers in Portland, OR (listed in Mautz). Card os about 6 x 4 inches, photo trimmed to a bit smaller.
