'The first British Electronic Computer Exhibition, jointly organized by the Electronic Engineering Association and the Office Appliance and Business Equipment Trade Association, was presented at Olympia, London from 28 November to 4 December, 1958. Concurrently with the Exhibition a Business Computer Symposium was held on 1st, 2nd and 3rd December, at which 23 papers were submitted by pioneers of automatic data processing systems. This book contains those papers and records the ensuing discussions' (from the jacket flap) 'The computer as we know it is a recent development.
