Olive green endpapers printed in black w/an drawing of the Reina del Pacifico and crocodiles by the author. The pastedown illustration on the front cover and illustration on page 8 have illustrations of the orphans from the Madeline stories. Pomerance #34a (bis) deluxe illustrated edition. The story of a journey that an South American General, Leonidas Erosa, an elderly Ecuadoran, from his villa in Biarritz to his home in South America. He had made an honorary general by Argentina out of respect for the famous Erosa herds. The slipcase chipped along the edges, leather label discolored, the spine of the book is sunned.
