Gilt decoration on spine, title on cover in gilt. 66 pages illustrated by drawings, a map, frontis engraving, and a foldout engraving. Apparently a collection of speeches of various notables on the crucial nature of Hedley's work in the development of the steam locomotive. Hedley's ideas were purportedly crucial although George Stephenson's importance is not denigrated.
