PLAN OF SHERBORNE

Published by Keeble Antiques- in December 2000 - this facsimile 16 x 19 inch image Plan of Sherborne was originally published for the 1815 Hutchins Sherborne- a genuinely uncommon title. Limited to 200 numbered copies these quality reproductions are printed on textured paper- with a watercolour wash highlighting rivers and major focal points. The 1814 map was drawn and reduced in 1802 by Jos Ayres from a plan of Sherborne taken from the actual survey by J.Ladd in 1735. This plan is of particular interest with the railway line, as well as "New Road" for Sherborne New Castle and the lower part of the town was as then undeveloped. However, the town centre is largely similar although some streets and buildings have different names.

Stamped "Advance Sheet Subject to Corrections" Stock# 45,142. Good, this folded map has been used with pencil notations some browning and small tears.
