Publisher: Garden City, NY, Nelson Doubleday, 1914 [i.e. ca 1940].
xvi, 173 p.; 21 cm. Published in 1897 under title: The Children of the Sea. Probably published around 1940. This account of the voyage of a sailing ship from Bombay Harbour to the Port of London explores the psychological pressures on a group of nineteenth-century seamen as they face extremes of nature and the secrets and evasions of two of their comrades." Reprint, ca. 1941 Hardback octavo in orange cloth. 321 pages. The photoplay edition with the jacket featuring Edward G. Robinson as Wolf Larsen from the 1941 Warner Brothers film, also starring John Garfield and Ida Lupino. Probably the best of several movies made of this classic London story.
