This is no coffee table book, but a very readable scholarly treatise illustrated to make its points. A bright and clean book, soundly bound, but with some light scratches to the front cover. There is also a minor binding flaw: the front hinge has a bead of cloth sticking up where there is ordinarily a gutter or indentation. The jacket is barely rubbed.
