40 individual folio color plates illustrating various aspects of art in science. Plates are unusual paintings, drawings and photographs by a wide variety of artists. Each plate is separated by an onion skin folio page imprinted with a brief legend describing the plate. The color engravings are printed on Polar Superfine Enamel paper. Minimal text is on Wescar Vellum Offset paper. Entire set is boxed in a folding slipcase. A 4-page folio preface, “The Creative Process” by J. Bronowski, is also included. The plates are all in Fine condition with a few having some foxing in the white margins. Folio box enclosure is faded and torn along top edges. Else a very nice set of ephemera. Plates are suitable for framing.
