2.   Kent, Rockwel and lZigrosser, Carl
Rockwellkentiana: Few Words and Many Pictures
Publisher: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1933 New York
Book. Book condition: Good. No Jacket. Hardcover 4to - over 9 - 12" tall First edition (stated). "The articles in this book are reprinted from catalogues, periodicals and scattered books, or printed for the first time from manuscripts more hopefully submitted in their time than consequences justified. They are presented merely as a contribution to that unending discussion of art in which the artist's voice is seldom heard, and in the hope - forlorn enough! - that they may somehow help to end it. It must be pleaded in extenuation of the untimeliness of some of them to-day that they are, as a whole, meant to represent no more than an artist's random opinions and thoughts about what matters of his life and trade as, it might appear, it is hes privilege to think about and, possibly, to know, and be said in excuse for their reiteration that the fault itself is consistent with the author's conviction that the less that is said of art the better." The book includes Kent's thoughts on art, a bibliography of his wood engravings and lithographs, and a selection of his drawings, woodcuts, lithographs and paintings. 64 text pages; the final section of the works by Kent is not paginated. Book is in GOOD condition; wear to cover. No dust jacket.
