Ewing, Emma P.
Cooking and Castle-building.
Publisher: Chicago: Fairbanks, Palmer, 1883. 216 pp. 12mo. Cloth. Later printing. The author proposes that a man's home is not his castle unless there's a wife in the kitchen who is cooking good food. Basic culinary advice told in narrative format. Edges and boards rubbed, small split to rear hinge, offsetting to title page from newsprint (with small piece still attached), penciled gingerbread recipe to verso of free end paper, otherwise a tight, clean, unmarked text and still a good or better copy.
