Publisher: Munshiram Manoharlal Publishers. 1997. Originally published in 1842 this is the 1997 facsimile of that edition published in 1842. The author, Charles Masson was a pseudonym of James Lewis, an East Indian Company Soldier and explorer. In 1827, while stationed at Agra, he and a fellow soldier deserted and traveled parts of the Panjab (a geographical region straddling the border between Pakistan and India which includes Punjab province in Pakistan and the states of the Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and Delhi in India) that were not under British control at that time. He was ultimately forgiven for his desertion and later gained famed as a numismatist as he had unearthed coins that provided clues to the ancient rulers of Afghanistan. Volume I - 471 pages; volume II - 464 pages; volume III - 496 pages. Dust jackets on all three books are in Fine condition. No names, writing, or marks in any of the books.
