First published in 1849 when the author was 30, Seven Lamps introduces the idea that the buildings and art of a people are an expression of their religion, morality, and social and spiritual character. This is the final edition revised by Ruskin. This is a copy of the large, expansive edition by George Allen. It is bound in full blue leather and has an armorial bookplate. The condition of the book is very good but the binding is scuffed, the corners are worn, and the top of the front hinge has started to crack. OB327.
