First published 1849, when the author was 30, Seven Lamps introduces the idea that the buildings and art of a people are an expression of their religion, morality, and social and spiritual character. The final edition revised by Ruskin, this is a copy of the large, expansive edition by George Allen. Bound in full blue leather with an armorial bookplate; condition very good but binding is scuffed, corners worn, and the top of the front hinge has started to crack. Stock#OB327.
