Schriver, Lester
Price of Liberty
Publisher: Indianapolis 1964 Good+ with no dust jacket Research and Review Service of America Hardcover Edges, corners, and spine ends of this cloth-bound book show moderate wear. There are also some small white spots and some discolorations on the front cover. Pages are clean and bright. ; 8vo; 122 pages; I have been slow to list this book because I hate to part with it. It is full of inspirational essays and stories on what it means to be free, how to stay free. It deals with the spiritual and moral aspects of American heritage and citizenship. Many of the essays are appropriate to read on holidays, or appear to have been inspired by them. He writes of courage, of Pearl Harbor, of education, of friendship, of Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Veterans' Day, competition with Russia, and more. He tells stories about many of our former presidents and other public figures. This book will help one understand what it means to be an American.
