A fantasy set in England's enchanted West Country "a hundred years ago." This title not only won the UK's prestigious Carnegie Medal, but no less an author than J. K. Rowling has said it was her favorite as a child. High praise indeed! The title was also an Honor Book in the New York Herald Tribune's Children's Spring Book Festival. Some fading to spine, slight fore edge foxing else Very Good. Dustjacket lightly soiled, spine a bit darkened, with a little chipping at spine ends and corners.
