A very good and well produced local history of this community near Boise. Some particularly interesting photographs of a water project in the Depression. A detailed study of Chinese immigrants in the mining camps of Idaho's Boise Basin ca. 1860-1910. The story is not one of victimization. The Chinese lived, thrived, failed and coped in much the same way the white settlers did. The author is a native of Shanghai and a history professor at Eastern Washington University.
