Special First Editon A thick quarto measuring 12 1/4" by 9 1/4" in fine condition in full black leather covered boards with photographic end sheets, silver colored text stamping on the spine and with silver test, blue and white decorations and a sepia photograph on the front board set within embossed leather background. The rear board is decorated with pearl handled six-shooter in a holster. The edges of the text block are in silver. Without a dust jacket as issued; however, this elaborate volume is encased in a fine black cloth covered clam shell box with a circular photograph of Hopalong Cassidy inset on the front board and a large sepia portrait of William Boyd on the verso side of front panel of the clam shell. This is one of only 1, 000 copies printed and this copy is identified as number 603. Additionally, the volume is signed by William Boyd's widow, Grace Bradley Boyd on a specially tipped-in page at the front of the book. 368 pages of text heavily illustrated with black and white and color photography.
