"This 'Souvenir Album' has been prepared with a view of bringing more prominently before the notice of strangers and tourists the varied attractions and natural resources of Trinidad, which for tropical scenery is unsurpassed. ...The most that I have ventured to undertake is to chronicle the festivities of the Centenary celebrations, and to briefly give other useful information, by the aid of numerous illustrations, of some of the principal places and objects of interest in the island. ...to interest those in quest of pleasure and change from the rigours of a northern winter to a sunny and temperate clime. I am therefore hopeful that my venture will favourably impress those who may be unacquainted with the beautiful scenery of 'The Land of the Humming Bird.' J. Paget, Manager Govt.
