Brief typed biography taped to inside front cover. A few small light ink smudges inside front cover. Brief note in ink at bottom of first page: "This copy may be kept in the Arbours library as a gift from Irene." (The Arbours is a private nursing home in Savoy, IL.) Library sticker on back cover. Between 1964 and 1985, the author published four novels with The Follett Company and four with Scribners. She won the Charles W. Follett Award for worthy contributions to children's literature and the John Newberry Medal for most distinguished literature for children. This is a collection of her four published short stories.
