Second Edition of 1857 Very good in the publisher's original dark brown cloth covered boards with blind embossing on the boards and with bright gilt text on the front board. The cloth at the head and heel of the spine is worn and rubbed through in several area as it is at the lower fore corners of the boards. 191 pages including an appendix and index. An antebellum comparison of the Slave States and the Free States "compiled from official documents". An extremely uncommon publication in its original printing.
