First Edition. 26 X 19 cm. Very Good/No dj. Pictorial cloth, x, [xi - xvii], 127, [9] pp, 37 illustrations (mostly photos), index. Extremities rubbed and bumped. A history of the Episopalian parish and the church building, which was made the Cathedral for the Diocese of Minnesota in 1941, thirty-one years after it was built. The book was published as a memorial for Frederick Grant Atkinson, and contains a dedicatory preface and a presentation bookplate signed by his widow, Dorothy B. Atkinson Rood. In addition to her activities at St. Mark's, Mrs. Rood was a member of the Minneapolis Library Board from 1949 to 1962, its president at the time construction of the new library was undertaken in 1958, and wife of sculptor John Rood, whose monumental scroll stood in front of the library. Contains a detailed description of the interior of St. Mark's and of the various memorials it contains. Also contains a list of bishops, rectors, deans, wardens, cantors, and ministers. The six-page index consists mostly of names of people mentioned in the book. Shipping weight 2 lbs.
